Washington House Votes 98 to 0 to Fully Legalise Hemp

04th, Mar 2017

In breaking news in the US medicinal cannabinoid market, the State House of Washington has unanimously passed a bill that would effectively legalise hemp.

If House Bill 2064 is passed, Hemp will be classified as an agricultural commodity and as such will be treated like tomatoes or corn. The aim of the bill is to exclude “industrial hemp from the definitions of “controlled substance” and “marijuana” for purposes of the uniform controlled substances act.”

The bill still needs approval from the Senate and then needs to appear before Governor Jay Inslee, but if all goes well, there will be no further restrictions on the production of the plant and without a specific licensing system, hemp producers will not even have to register with the state.  You can find the full text of the measure by clicking here
