New WHO Report Finds No Public Health Risk Associated With CBD
A new report conducted by the WHO (World Health Organisation) has found that there is no public health risk associated with the use of CBD. The report also found that it is completely safe and well tolerated in both animals and humans and it also states that CBD has “been demonstrated as an effective treatment for epilepsy” in adults, children, and even animals and that there’s “preliminary evidence” that CBD could be useful in treating Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, psychosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other serious conditions.
The report also determines that there is no danger of recreational abuse through using CBD as it is completely non-psychoactive and does not induce physical dependence unlike other forms of medical cannabis which contain high levels of THC (the compound that causes a user to feel ‘high’. Recent findings also show that CBD has been found to counteract the negative effects that THC can induce such as paranoia or anxiety.
While CBD is completely safe, industry experts do warn that not all cannabis extracts are created purely and using suitable extraction methods. There has already been an influx of synthetic variations and ‘fakes’ flooding the market which make false claims about the purity of their products or extraction methods. To combat this, experts advise to use only reputable companies who offer full traceability of all products.
CBD Ultra’s range of products are all sourced from a premium US supplier and all are certified organic, GMO and pesticide-free. Importantly, they are extracted using the C02 method (the cleanest method available) and they contain zero THC. Every customer receives a full lab report stating the amount of CBD and other compounds, offering full transparency from seed to sell.
In light of these new findings and all of the recent medical discoveries regarding CBD, the WHO report states that “several countries have modified their national controls to accommodate CBD as a medicinal product”.
The report was presented by the WHO’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence, and drafted under the responsibility of the WHO Secretariat, Department of Essential Medicines and Health Products, Teams of Innovation, Access and Use and Policy, Governance and Knowledge.
